The Young Aviators are part of the Mile High EAA Chapter 43, a non-profit organization.

We have group of high school students that have expressed interest in restarting Young Aviators 43.  They are all interested in getting their private pilots license and we will be exploring topics that will facilitate that objective.  The meeting topics that we have discussed for meetings are:   1) The mechanics of flight: What makes an airplane fly? 2) What is the pattern at a non-controlled airport?  3) What do the markings on a runway mean?      4) What communication is required while flying in an airport’s pattern (controlled and non-controlled)? 5) How to plan a cross-country flight?

We will meet on the third Saturday of the month at Erie Airport from noon until 2PM.  Meetings are scheduled for March 21, April 18, May 16, and June 20. We will then take a summer break for July and August.

 All are welcome.

On the calendar page you will find the topics to be discussed at each meeting.  Also included is a map of Erie Airport showing the meeting location.
